Desert Sun Solar Farm
The Desert Sun Solar Farm is one of the largest solar installations in the Southwest United States. Spanning over 1,500 acres of desert terrain, this 250 MW facility utilizes single-axis tracking technology to maximize energy capture throughout the day. Our team provided comprehensive EPC services including site assessment, detailed engineering design, equipment procurement, construction management, and grid interconnection. The project features over 500,000 high-efficiency bifacial solar modules, advanced inverter stations, and a 34.5kV collection system connecting to the regional transmission network. Environmental stewardship was prioritized with wildlife-friendly fencing, native vegetation preservation corridors, and minimal grading to reduce site disturbance. The facility generates enough clean electricity to power approximately 75,000 homes while avoiding over 350,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.

Mountain Creek Hydro
Mountain Creek Hydro showcases sustainable hydroelectric development that balances power generation with environmental stewardship. This 50 MW run-of-river facility diverts a portion of the natural streamflow through a 3-kilometer penstock to the powerhouse, returning water downstream with minimal impact on the aquatic ecosystem. Olsen Energy provided complete design-build services including hydraulic engineering, civil construction, turbine-generator procurement, and fish passage facilities. The project features two vertical Francis turbines optimized for the site's head and flow characteristics, advanced automation systems, and real-time environmental monitoring. Fish screens and a modern fish ladder ensure safe passage for migratory species. The facility operates as baseload generation, providing consistent power output that complements variable solar and wind resources in the regional grid mix.
